I assume this record is for "Thomas Press", even though it states "John Slocombe". See Elizabeth Brown's note about why Slocombe was used as the surname. I believe "John" was a mistake, as this person is part of what appears to be the only Slocombe family on the SS Orizaba of October 1892. See the immigration records of Thomas' children and wife for more information. The age in this record is 50, which was the age of Thomas Press (born 1841) at the time of this voyage.
